BOOKS
John writes mostly fiction. He is presently writing the follow on novels of the one he just finished - Night and Day.
Here's a brief synopsis of Night and Day :
On the verge of losing her job, Bríd Devine, an alcoholic Irish nurse living a loner lifestyle in the East Village meets the outgoing American psychiatrist, Áine Ryan, who tells Bríd she talks to her in her dreams. Áine encourages her to go into rehab but it’s only when Bríd finds out she’s going blind that she realizes how much she hasn’t seen, leaving her to decide, after losing someone close to her, whether to learn what it is to really heal, to become a true healer, before she looses herself, her wife and their son.
He is also working on the second and third novels of what is becoming a historical trilogy, the first of which was Ezekiel.
He also recently finished a noir novel A Murder of Crows and is editing his Irish coming of age novel A Brave Man Dead.
His first two novels were The Circles and The Listener. The latter is about an Irish bard recounting his life through the poetry and stories he recited.
John also occasionally writes plays, such as The Man in Black.
